World Champions Germany take on Saudi Arabia in their final Pre World Cup friendly
Germany and Saudi Arabia are set to play each other on Friday night in an international friendly as both teams comes towards an end of warm-up matches before the world cup. Germany go into this game as the favorites.
Kick-off : 7:30 PM (Local)
Venue : BayArena, Leverkusen
World Champions Germany suffered a shocking loss to Austria last weekend and it’s not an ideal way to prepare for the world cup. But they are not world champions for nothing and one can expect Germany to be at their very best as and when the tournament begins.
As of now they have got one more warm-up match left which is against one of Asia’s best sides in Saudi Arabia. They will just have to play normal football and I think they are well capable of getting past the Saudi’s.
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia are in mixed form and have won twice and lost twice of their last four friendlies. They looked good in the game against the Italians but know Germany will be an altogether different test.
The Green Falcons play their first match of the world cup against Russia on the 14th June which is the opening game.
Both Germany and Saudi Arabia have played each other twice before and both times the Germans came out on top.
Team news and possible line-ups
Mohammed Al-Sahlawi and Raisir Al-Jassim are both available for Saudi Arabia for the weekend game and will likely play.
As for Germany, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller are all available and will likely play.
Saudi Arabia XI : Al Mosailem, Al-Harbi, O Hawsawi, Al-Shahrani, Al-Jassim, Al-Shehri, Al-Dawsari, Al Faraj, Al-Muwallad, Al-Sahlawi.
Germany XI : Neuer, Kimmich, Hummels, Boateng, Plattenhardt, Kroos, Goretzka, Muller, Ozil, Reus, Werner.
Prediction
I expect Germany to win this game 3-0.
