United look for three points as they host Everton
Manchester United are set to play Everton on Sunday in the Premier League as the season moves ahead. Both teams will be looking to get the three points.
Kick-off : 3:00 PM (Local)
Venue : Old Trafford, Stretford
Referee : Andre Marriner
Wayne Rooney will look to get a win over his former club as he returns to Old Trafford for the first time as an Everton player.
Rooney left United in the summer as the club’s all-time record goalscorer. He will travel this time with Ronald Koeman’s Toffees to Manchester.
United lost their perfect league record this season as they drew with Stoke 2-2 last weekend. But if they get a good win on Sunday, they will remain top of the table this weekend.
It should be a good game on Sunday as both sides will hope for a win.
Team news and possible line-ups
Ronald Koeman is set to make changes again as Everton look to end their poor form. Following three successive defeats Koeman has called for more from his senior players.
He made six changes in the Toffees Europa League loss to Atalanta in midweek. So the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Ashley Williams and Davy Klaassen are expected to be recalled along with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Ross Barkley and Ramiro Funes Mori remain unavailable for the Toffees.
As for United, Paul Pogba will be unavailable due to injury. While Phil Jones and Eric Bailly will return for Sunday’s game after suspensions.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo are still recovering from knee ligament damage. Although Luke Shaw is available for Everton game.
Everton XI : Pickford, Keane, Williams, Jagielka, Holgate, Davies, Gueye, Schneiderlin, Baines, Sigurdsson, Rooney.
Manchester United XI : De Gea, Bailly, Jones, Young, Darmian, Matic, Fellaini, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Lukaku.
Prediction
I Expect this game to be a draw.
