Two tournament favorites Brazil and Belgium go head to head in Kazan
Brazil and Belgium are set to go head to head on Friday night in 2018 FIFA World Cup Quarter-Finals as both eye progression to the semi’s. Brazil go into this game as the favorites.
Kick-off : 9:00 PM (Local)
Venue : Kazan Arena, Kazan
Brazil the favorites to win the tournament as of now doesn’t have that difficult a task ahead of them. They have got all the talent in the world to reach the semi’s without much fuss.
They though should avoid complacency and give Belgium due respect as they are a pretty dangerous team. If the Selecao play their normal football, I am sure they get past the Western Europeans.
On the other hand, Belgium have a big task ahead of them in the form of a record five-time world champions in the Quarter-Finals. Belgium have done well to reach thus far as we saw in the game against Japan.
Belgian Red Devils know they are up against it but in a way the pressure is not on them and this way they can give their best and then who know’s maybe cause an unlikely upset.
Brazil last met Belgium 16 years ago in 2002 FIFA World Cup, a game which saw the Brazilians prevail.
Team news and possible line-ups
Nacer Chadli and Maraoune Fellaini are both available and will likely get a place in the starting XI for Belgium.
As for Brazil, Casemiro will not be available for the weekend game as due to suspension. While Marcelo is a doubt.
Belgium XI : Courtois, Vertonghen, Kompany, Alderweireld, Chadli, Witsel, Dembele, Meunier, De Bruyne, Hazard, Lukaku.
Brazil XI : Alisson, Fagner, Silva, Miranda, Marcelo, Fernandinho, Paulinho, Coutinho, Willian, Neymar, Jesus.
Prediction
I think it will be a close game between two tough sides but I expect Brazil to win in the end. I guess Brazil wins 2-1 here.
