Tata IPL 2022 – CSK vs SRH, match preview, predicted lineups

CSK vs SRH
Match no. 17 of UPL 2022 between CSK and SRH takes place today

Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad both have not been at their general best, loosing all of their games they have played so far. Both teams will go for a win here as they take on each other in IPL 2022 for the first time.

Date & Time : 9th April 2022, 3:30 PM IST

Venue : Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai

Chennai have lost thus far to KKR, LSG & PBKS but with southern rivalry, we can expect them to do well against SRH. CSK needs to play their brand of cricket.

Captain Ravindra Jadeja haven’t been upto the mark with his decisions and the batting though not bad but needs to win them games. CSK have up the order players like Uthappa, Rayudu who have contributed but it is the form of Ruturaj Gaikwad which is a cause of concern. In the middle Dhoni have been scoring so far this season.

Bowling wise Chennai bowlers have not done their job with captain Jadeja himself not his normal best. Dwayne Bravo have been the better option and now the return of Chris Jordan should bring hope.

Sunrisers Hyderabad on the other hand, have been similar to their southern counterparts in CSK and have not won any games so far in this IPL. They will need to improve quickly.

SRH have lost to RR & LSG. They play Gujarat next after the Chennai game.

SRH haven’t able to chase well in their games and this is a serious issue considering the presence of good batters in the lineup. Captain Williamson haven’t been at his best so far and this is hurting Sunrisers.

Bowling wise Hyderabad have good options like B. Kumar, Natarajan, Sundar but not anyone of them has yet bowled a match winning spell.

In terms off the head to head Chennai lead considerably by 16-4 out of the 20 matches played between the two.

As for the wicket, the batsman as usual will be supported with good ball bowlers rewarded.

Team news and possible lineups

There are no fresh injury concerns for both sides at the moment.

CSK XI : Gaikwad, Uthappa, Ali, Rayudu, R. Jadeja (C), Dhoni (WK), Dube, D. Bravo, Pretorius, Jordan, Deshpande.

SRH XI : A. Sharma, Williamson (C), R. Tripathi, Markram, Pooran (WK), Samad, Sundar, Shepherd, B. Kumar, U. Malik, Natarajan.

Prediction

I expect a chasing side to win here with toss being important.
