Sri Lanka needs to give their all to avoid ODI series whitewash
India already lead the ODI series 4-0 and now will be eyeing a clean sweep. Having dominated and whitewashed Sri Lanka in the Test series 3-0, India will be very confident moving ahead.
Date and Time : 3rd September 2017, 2:30 PM IST
Venue : R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo
After winning the fourth ODI by 168 runs on Thursday, Kohli said it was a clinical performance. He also said that he would continue to experiment with the team’s line-up in the fifth and final one-dayer. Kohli, also added that the three new players, who were given an opportunity for this match, will get another win.
Virat went on to say that the batting order is flexible and the experiment will be made depending on the situation of the game.
India’s batting is solid and they made the most of it by amassing 375/5 in the previous game. Their bowling too looked good with Shardul Thakur coming well.
Sri Lanka on the other hand, are having a lot of worries. Their batsman are not getting enough runs and they are yet to make 250 in this ODI series. Neither their bowling has impressed with a little bit of exception for Akila Dananjaya.
In the 5th ODI, we hope for a better contest then it has been so far.
Team news and Possible line-ups
Their already have been so many changes made in the Sri Lankan line-ups throughout the visit made by India, but for the final ODI the team will remain the same as for the 4th ODI.
On the other hand, India might make changes for the game on Sunday.
Sri Lanka XI : Malinga (C), Dickwella (WK), Thirimanne, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Siriwardana, Wanindu Hasaranga, Munaweera, Akila Dananajaya, Malinda Pushpakumara, Vishwa Fernando.
India XI : Kohli (C), Rohit, Shikhar, KL Rahul, Manish Pandey, Dhoni (C), Pandya, Axar, Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul, Bumrah.
Prediction
I expect the same result as it has been in this series. India should win the fifth and final ODI to make it 5-0.
