Real Madrid eye three points at home against Leganes in La Liga
Real Madrid are set to play Leganes on Saturday in La Liga as the season nears it’s conclusion. Real Madrid go into this game as the favorites.
Kick-off : 6:30 PM (Local)
Venue : Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid
Real Madrid did well in midweek and won the first leg of their semi-final tie with Bayern Munich in UEFA Champions League 2017/18. Two away goals should help in the return leg for them to progress ahead and reach the final. But the focus for now will shift to La Liga as their’s a game coming up.
Real Madrid are currently third in La Liga after 33 games with 68 points. They trail table toppers and rivals Barcelona by 15 points and can’t win the league. But should see off Leganes on Saturday.
On the other hand, Lega have done well so far in La Liga this term and are 15th in the table. They seems to be safe from relegation but will still obviously look for positive results. But Real Madrid away will be a test of different level.
So far Leganes and Real Madrid have played each other five times. Out of that Los Blancos have won on four occasions while loosing just once.
Team news and possible line-ups
Martin Mantovani will not be available for Leganes for the weekend game as due to injury.
As for Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane will likely rest a few of his key players as due to the Champions League 2nd leg coming up on Tuesday. In that case we should see Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Isco being rested.
Leganes XI : Cuellar, Tito, Bustinza, R. Garcia, D. Rico, Gumbau, G. Pires, El Zhar, Eraso, M. Guerrero, Naranjo.
Real Madrid XI : Navas, Carvajal, Vallejo, Varane, T. Hernandez, Asensio, Kovacic, Kroos, Bale, Benzema, Vazquez.
Prediction
I expect Real Madrid to win this game 3-1.
