Manchester United begin their new season at home against West Ham
Manchester United will kick start their 2017/18 Premier League season with a game against West Ham on Sunday. Man United will be the favorites in this game to get all the three points.
Kick-off : 3:00 PM (Local)
Venue : Old Trafford, Stretford
Referee : Martin Atkinson
United only lost once at home last season but drew 15 games and finished sixth. One of the games against West Ham last season was a 1-1 draw and Mourinho wouldn’t want a repeat of that.
Man United have had three new signings – Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic. So loosing to West Ham should not occur.
Their are no injury concerns coming into this game for Jose Mourinho. So they would want to get ahead this season.
West Ham finished 11th last season and they will certainly want to improve on that. Slaven Bilic will have the call to field the best possible line up against Manchester United.
Team news and possible line-ups
Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young remain out as they continue to recover from injuries sustained last season.
Eric Bailly and Phil Jones who missed the game against Real Madrid on Tuesday through suspensions will be available.
Aaron Cresswell of West Ham is expected to be available on Sunday. Michail Antonio will not be available as he is still recovering from hamstring injury.
Captain Mark Noble is having a minor toe problem and could be unavailable as well. Striker Javier Hernandez could feature against his old club.
While summer signings Sead Haksabanovic, Zabaleta, Arnautovic and Hart could also make their Debuts.
Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll continue their rehabilitation.
Manchester United XI : De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Bailly, Darmian, Matic, Herrera, Lingard, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Lukaku.
West Ham United XI : Hart, Fonte, Ogbonna, Zabaleta, Masuaku, Noble, Obiang, Fernandes, Ayew, Arnautovic, Hernandez.
Prediction
I expect United to have this one. I think it will be 3-1 in favor of Manchester United.
