Man United look for three points as they host CSKA Moscow in the Champions League
Manchester United are set to play CSKA Moscow on Tuesday in the Champions League as the group stage comes to an end. United go into this game as the favorites.
Kick-off : 7:45 PM (Local)
Venue : Old Trafford, Stretford
Manchester United know that they just need a point to secure qualifications to next stage as group winners.
United currently are on 12 points from five games. They lead second placed FC Basel by three points, who are on nine and CSKA Moscow, who are on nine as well.
At the weekend United play City and in that case Jose Mourinho might rest some of his key players. Although Paul Pogba will play.
So far Man United and CSKA Moscow have played each other five times. Out of that The Red Devils have won three times while drawing two times. CSKA Moscow are yet to win a game against United.
But it should be a good game on Tuesday as both teams will give their all.
Team news and possible line-ups
Georgi Schennikov, Aleksey Berezutski and Georgi Milanov are all out injured for CSKA Moscow.
Igor Akinfeev will once again captain the side.
As for Man United, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini remain sidelined.
Matteo Darmian is available and might play on Tuesday night.
CSKA Moscow XI : Akinfeev, Fernandes, Ignashevich, Vasin, Nababkin, Wernbloom, Makarov, Dzagoev, Golovin, Vitinho, Chalov.
Manchester United XI : De Gea, Lindelof, Smalling, Valencia, Darmian, Pogba, Young, Herrera, Matic, Martial, Lukaku.
Prediction
While it’s not a given that Man United will win on Tuesday night, they certainly are the favorites. I expect United to get the job done and earn three points. The scoreline could be 2-0. The goalscorers might be Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku.
