Liverpool lost to Manchester City yesterday in 2019 FA Community Shield as both teams finished the 90 minutes on one goal each. But later it was City who triumphed as they won the penalty shootout.

Manchester City now are having their moments with winning almost every major tournament they play in. Their confidence must be sky high.

On the other hand, Liverpool must be extremely disappointed that they weren’t able to win a major honour but will look forward to the Premier league season coming.

Their were high hopes from both sides as one won the PL last season and one won the Champions League last season.

The game was a one on which many football fans had their eyes on. Everyone was looking forward to it and it disappoint.

The overall game was a pretty competitive one with both teams attacking each other. Manchester City though looked the better team in the first half.

Raheem Sterling put Man City up in the 12th minute of the game and Manchester City were ahead with some not so top quality efforts from Liverpool.

The Reds tried their level best to equalise but couldn’t with some quality football from a dangerous Man City side.

We reached half time then in London with Pep Guardiola in the driver’s seat. Jurgen Klopp had work to do.

After the break we saw some desperate football from Liverpool as they had no option left in the game but to comeback or else forget the title.

City did wonderfully well to deny Liverpool any opportunity with their brand of football until the 77th minute when Joel Matip broke the deadlock. 1-1 then with some time left on the clock.

The two teams coudn’t be separated as full time whistle was blown by the referee. Penalties is what was next required to find out the trophy winner.

Georginio Wijnaldum was the culprit then for Liverpool who couldn’t complete the job in hand as he missed a penalty with Gabriel Jesus finishing the job for his team.

So Manchester City won the trophy with pride and much to look forward to for Liverpool.
