Liverpool look for three points as they play Maribor away

Liverpool vs Maribor
Liverpool will play Maribor on Tuesday in the Champions League
Liverpool are set to play Maribor on Tuesday night in the Champions League as the season moves ahead. The Reds go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Ljudski vrt, Maribor

Liverpool will be hoping for maximum points from their Champions League double header against Maribor.

So far Jurgen Klopp’s side have got two points from the two games played. But a win in Slovenia will surely help them.

These two sides have never faced each other in an official competition. So this will be their first meeting.

Liverpool’s main problem is their defense and especially playing away from home. They will need to quickly address that.

All in all it should be a good game on Tuesday as both teams will give their everything.

Team news and possible line-ups

Marko Suler and Denis Sime both will not be available for Maribor for Tuesday’s game as due to injury.

Marcos Tavares will captain Maribor in this game.

As for Liverpool, Sadio Mane will not be available as he is out injured. While Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne will also not be available due to their respective injuries.

Jurgen Klopp will likely shuffle his squad against the Slovenian club. So Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke will push for places in the starting XI.

Maribor XI : Cotman, Billong, Suler, Milec, Rajcevic, Vrhovec, Pihler, Ahmedi, Kabha, Tavares, Zahovic.

Liverpool XI : Karius, A. Arnold, Lovren, Matip, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Salah, Sturridge, Coutinho, Solanke.

Prediction

It is not a given that Liverpool will win on Tuesday night but certainly they go into this game as the favorites. It is an away fixture so Liverpool will have to be rock solid defensively. I think it will be a narrow win for the Reds in this game. I expect Liverpool to win 2-1 on Tuesday.
