Liverpool look for three points at home against Southampton

Liverpool vs Southampton
Liverpool will play Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League
Liverpool are set to play Southampton on Saturday in the Premier League as the season moves ahead. Liverpool go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 3:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Anfield, Liverpool

Liverpool are currently 12 points behind table toppers Manchester City. They need to keep winning games to catch up City at the top.

Whereas Southampton have been inconsistent this season. They have three wins, four draws and four defeats scoring just nine goals.

The Reds certainly have a good chance of getting three points at the weekend against an inconsistent side, although they can’t be complacent.

So far Liverpool and Southampton have played each other 106 times. Out of that the Reds have won 51 times while Southampton have won 30 times, 25 games have ended as a draw.

It promises to be a good game on Saturday as both teams will give their all.

Team news and possible line-ups

Mario Lemina remains out for Southampton due to ankle injury. While Jeremy Pied is another absentee. Other than that Southampton have no fresh injury concerns.

As for Liverpool, Jordan Henderson is doubtful for Saturday’s game. Whereas Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne are also doubtful for Southampton game.

Southampton XI : F. Forster, C. Soares, M. Yoshida, Van Dijk, R. Bertrand, O. Romeu, S. Davis, D. Tadic, S. Boufal, N. Redmond, M. Gabbiadini.

Liverpool XI : S. Mignolet, J. Gomez, J. Matip, R. Klavan, A. Moreno, Oxlade-Chamberlain, G. Wijnaldum, E. Can, S. Mane, R. Firmino, M. Salah.

Prediction

While it’s not a given that Liverpool will win on Saturday but they certainly start as favorites. Liverpool have the home advantage and I think they should make it count. I expect them to win the game 2-0. The goalscorers could be Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah on the night.
