Kylian Mbappe in the France squad to face Paraguay, Sweden & England in June
Monaco star Kylian Mbappe will get a chance to test himself against the likes of England in June’s friendly. France will play Paraguay on June 2 in a friendly, after which they play Sweden on June 9 in a World Cup Qualifier. Lastly Les Bleus host England for a friendly on June 13.
Didier Deschamps have a strong squad which contains Mbappe, who have led Monaco to a title victory. Kylian Mbappe have scored 16 goals this season for Monaco, who lift a title after 17 years.
Manchester United player Paul Pogba have been included in the 26 man squad. Arsenal duo of Olivier Giroud & Laurent Koscielny have also been included.
Premier League contingent contains players like, Kurt Zouma of Chelsea. PFA player of the year N’Golo Kante of Chelsea have also been included. Other players include, Hugo Lloris & Mousa Sissoko of Tottenham Hotspur.
Karim Benzema have not been called for June’s games. The forward has not played for France since October 2015 following his alleged involvement in a blackmail plot against team-mate Mathieu Valbuena.
When asked from the reporters about Benzema’s omission from the squad, Deschamps said “The team of France was built before Euro 2016, consolidated through the competition, it continued to be in this phase of qualifications”.
He also said, “I have a band in which there is a balance, a harmony”.
“All the players will play” he said in quotes reported by L’Equipe.
