India register first series win of 2018 England tour
India yesterday once again showed why they are the best team in the world at the moment. India defeated England by 7 wickets in the third and final T20I to win the series 2-1.
This is India’s eighth consecutive three match T20I series win. India have never lost a three T20I series. India is now leveled with England 7-7 on the head to head in T20I’s.
Everything went right for India when they won the toss in start and chose to bowl first. It was a decision everyone was expecting of Virat Kohli.
The English batsmen though had other ideas on the mind as they made a quick start and were on fire. The Indian debutants, Deepak Chahar and Siddarth Kaul were taken to cleaners as England threatened to post a total in access of 220.
The breaks were put on when Chahal came into bowl. Still they were scoring 10 runs per over. To control this onslaught, Hardik Pandya had to come with the bowling of his life.
Hardik did this by taking regular wickets as England lost their way and him in the process registering his best T20I bowling figures of 4/38. MS Dhoni, the legend himself created a bit of a history as India stopped England under 200. Dhoni became the first wicket-keeper in T20I history to take five catches in an innings.
India with their eyes set on the trophy started well as Rohit Sharma the eventual man of the match played attacking from the go. He parterned with others around him including captain Kohli as India always looked comfortable.
In the end after completing 100*(56) and Hardik landing the winning blow, India completed another historic series win. A well deserved one in the end.
Problems England now going ahead into the three match ODI series which begins on the 12th of July. On the other hand, joy for India at the moment!
