India eye a winning start in the T20I series

India vs Sri Lanka
India will play Sri Lanka in the first T20I on Wednesday
India will look for a winning start in Cuttack as the three match T20I series starts on Wednesday. Team India go into this game as the favorites.

Date and Time : 20th December 2017, 7:00 PM IST

Venue : Barabati Stadium, Cuttack

India have been extremely dominant in this ongoing series versus Sri Lanka. They already have Test and ODI series in their pocket. We can expect the same in the T20I series as well.

The format is shortened, which means more chances for Sri Lanka though. Their batsman who are more of an attacking type should thrive in the series.

On the other hand, India with their powerhouse batting are expected to post big scores if batting first. Also the bowling department is very potent.

We all know that the Lankans are not going through a great run and it means advantage India even before the series begins. But we can’t underestimate the Islanders, as they are one of cricketing world’s elite countries.

All in all it should be a good game on Wednesday night as both teams will give their all.

Team news and possible line-ups

Thisara Perera will once again captain Sri Lanka in the three match T20I series. While the team will almost be the same as in the ODI series. Guys like Chaturanga de Silva, Dasun Shanaka and Dusmantha Chameera can be expected to be in the team.

As for India, they have a few youngsters who can show up on Wednesday. Guys like Basil Thampi and Deepak Hooda are named in the squad and captain Rohit Sharma might be tempted to play them.

Sri Lanka XI : Tharanga, S. Samarawickrama, K. Perera, Mathews, Dickwella (WK), A. Gunaratne, T. Perera (C), D. Shanaka, C. de Silva, V. Fernando, Chameera.

India XI : R. Sharma (C), L. Rahul, Iyer, D. Hooda, M. Pandey, Dhoni (WK), H. Pandya, Sundar, Thampi, Chahal, Bumrah.

Prediction

I expect India to win this game.
