India get back to winning ways
India are back to winning ways as they beat the West Indies comprehensively by 105 runs. Ajinkya Rahane scored a brilliant 103 and laid the foundation for India’s high score.
Earlier Rahane with Dhawan gave India a fast start, scoring run a ball. Dhawan himself made another brilliant fifty, continuing his current good form.
These two had another 100 runs stand as they also had one in the previous abandoned game. India later amassed 310-5 in 43 overs, setting West Indies a humongous ask.
India’s top three have been in good form for quite a while now. Virat Kohli continued his form and got another fifty in the game. Yuvraj Singh needs to get amongst the runs to cement his place in the side.
India also now has the record for scoring more 300+ totals then any other country. They now have 96 scores of 300+, which means they are only 4 shorter to a century.
Given a target of 311 to chase in 43 overs, West Indies made a poor start. They lost their first wicket in the very first over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was brilliant and put brakes on the West Indian scoring.
Their was no intent of any sort from the Caribbean team to chase down this big total. They were slow from the start, making the already high asking rate go higher.
The Indian bowlers were all over the West Indies and dominated the game. Kuldeep Yadav made a valuable contribution to the team on his debut. He got the figures of 50/3(9), which was pretty good considering the match scenario.
Shai Hope was the only West Indian batsmen who looked dangerous, but when he got out, it was all over for the Windies. He scored a nearly run a ball 81.
Later India just went to wrap the game up and take the first ODI by whooping 105 runs. India looked good with both bat and ball.
If the Caribbean team are to give a fight to the Indians in games to come, then they will have to ball well and bat with more intent. Otherwise the Indians are here to win and they are winning it handsomely.
