Germany eye victory against Serbia at home in an International Friendly as they begin 2019
Germany will play Serbia in an international friendly on Wednesday as both teams begin year 2019. Germany go into this game as the favourites.
Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)
Venue : Volkswagen Arena, Wolfsburg
Germany had a disastrous last year 2018 after they were eliminated early in the FIFA World Cup loosing to teams like Mexico and South Korea. Then the suffering in the Nations League at the hands of France and Holland.
It seems like German football is going through a rough patch but not long is it gonna continue as we know its Germany. We as fans want to see things turnaround as quickly as possible. The aim is at the moment is smooth qualification to 2020 Euro’s.
For now they play Serbia in a friendly and it should be a tough game given the physicality of the Serbians and their quality. Germany will have to be at their best bringing their A game into play.
On the other hand, Serbia had a bad 2018 FIFA World Cup too getting out in the group stages loosing to quality teams like Switzerland and Brazil. But did well in the Nations League.
They will now eye Euro 2020 qualification. But have Germany before to play in friendly and four time world champions Germans are always tough opponents. So they will be tested. Serbia will have to give their all hoping for the best.
Team news and possible line-ups
Aleksandar Kolarov will captain Serbia in the midweek game.
As for Germany, Lukas Klostermann, Niklas Stark and Maximilian Eggestein are all available and will likely make their debuts.
Serbia XI : Rajkovic, Rukavina, Milenkovic, Veljkovic, Kolarov, Lukic, Maksimovic, Kostic, Ljajic, Tadic, Jovic.
