Germany eye three points away at Czech Republic
Germany and Czech Republic are set to play each other on Friday night in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. Germany are the favorites to get the three points.
Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)
Venue : Eden Arena, Prague
World Champions Germany have won each of the six qualifying matches thus far and will look to continue the streak.
If they win on Friday, they will inch more closer to next summers World Cup. Germany won the Confederations Cup during the summer with their second choice squad and now the key players have returned. This will further strengthen the team.
Germany have so far conceded just once in Group C and are in fine form. Die Mannschaft will play Norway next in Stuttgart on September 4.
Star players like Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller are back in the squad. While Joachim Low has opted against including Neuer, Mustafi and Sane.
Germany have already beaten the Czechs in this qualifying campaign back in last October. So they will be confident going into this one.
Team news and possible line-ups
Brondby striker Jan Kliment have been called up to the squad whereas Patrik Schick has not been selected for the Czechs.
Czech Republic Coach Karel Jarolim has named a young squad.
As for Germany, Jerome Boateng will be unavailable due to injury. While Manuel Neuer and Shkodran Mustafi have not been selected.
Serge Gnabry and Sami Khedira will also be not featuring on Friday as they are out injured.
Czech Republic XI : Vaclik, Gebre Selassie, Novak, Kaderabek, Kalas, Dockal, Krejci, Darida, Zmrhal, Soucek, Krmencik.
Germany XI : Ter Stegen, Hector, Hummels, Rudiger, Kimmich, Can, Rudy, Draxler, Kroos, Ozil, Muller.
Prediction
Germany are in brilliant form at the moment and have been undefeated in the qualifiers so far. So, I expect a 1-0 win for the Germans.
