France hammer Albania at home in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers
France yesterday hammered Albania at home in UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers as both teams fought it out hard. France will be happier of the two teams after securing three points.
France have now moved to first in the points table after playing five games with 12 points on board. They will take on Andorra in a couple of days time.
Albania should be hurt by the result as their qualification hopes would now be Hung by the thread.
In terms of the game France started off pretty confidently looking to secure three points. The world champions had an attacking start.
Kingsley Coman was the hero of the match as he put France in front in just the 8th minute with a fine goal. After which Albania were on the back foot.
France made things really difficult for Albania as they never seemed like scoring even once. They trailed.
Les Bleus kept the pressure on Albania as Olivier Giroud soon got another one in and it was France 2-0 Albania.
It was the last goal in the half as we approached half-time. Edoardo Reja needed to buck up his players before the second half’s play.
Didier Deschamps would have been satisfied with his team’s efforts as we began the second half with Albania needing all to do.
The French didn’t had any problems in the 2nd half as we saw Kingsley Coman double his goal tally on the night in the 68th minute.
The game was over by then as everyone looked towards hearing the full time whistle. But their was late drama.
Nanitamo Ikone made it 4-0 for France on the night. He scored an 85th minute goal.
The only consolation that Albania got was a penalty being converted in the 90th minute by Sokol Cikalleshi.
So it was a game which the French dominated but lessons to be learned for Albania.
Albania next host Iceland on Tuesday.
