England and Germany play out stalemate
England and Germany game ended in a draw yesterday as both teams failed to score. England are now unbeaten in seven matches at Wembley.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek excelled on his debut as did Jordan Pickford. It’s a positive result for England as they had an inexperienced side facing World champions Germany.
Jordan Pickford made very important saves in the game and was one of the reasons that the Three Lions kept a clean sheet.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen was as usual brilliant in keeping and denied England on occasions. He was one of their key players and helped Die Mannschaft keep a clean sheet.
Phil Jones was injured early on in the game which allowed Joe Gomez to make his debut for the hosts. It would have been important minutes he spent on the pitch.
Captain Eric Dier also didn’t had such a bad game and alongside Ruben Loftus-Cheek made the midfield strong.
We need to remember that it was a game with many of England’s top players withdrawing. So in that case the Three Lions were brilliant in their display.
This was the first goalless draw that England have played at Wembley since October 2010. They drew 0-0 with Montenegro then under Fabio Capello.
Also this was the first goalless draw between England and Germany since 1982. Back then the Three Lions drew 0-0 with West Germany at the World Cup in Spain.
England Debutant Tammy Abraham was also brilliant on the night and same will be expected of him in future.
It was a good game for the 80,000 plus crowd as they watched a highly competitive football game between two European giants.
England now play Brazil next on Tuesday while Germany play France on the same day. So more competitive football to come for football fans.
