Chelsea look to win the London derby against Spurs at Wembley
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are set to play each other on Sunday in the Premier League. Defending champions Chelsea are the favorites to win this game.
Kick-off : 3:00 PM BST
Venue : Wembley Stadium, Wembley
Referee : Anthony Taylor
Chelsea opened their 2017/18 Premier League season with a match against Burnley. The Blues surprisingly lost that game 3-2. Antonio Conte will be hoping of a no repeat of that performance against Spurs.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side though won their Premier League opener in style against Newcastle. But the coach is yet to add a single new face to the squad despite loosing Kyle Walker to Man City this summer.
Spurs supporters might be more happier then Chelsea supporters at the moment but they know it’s a new day. The Blues are defending their title and Tottenham are yet to settle at Wembley.
Team news and possible line-ups
Spurs have an injury concern as right wing-back Kieran Trippier is suffering from a “minor ligament damage.” Although he is expected to be fit by September 9 and will play against Everton.
Victor Wanyama and Heung-min Son are expected to be in the line-up against Chelsea as previously being benched against Newcastle.
As for Chelsea, since Gary Cahill is suspended Andreas Christensen might be given a chance. Tiemoue Bakayoko is still out injured. While David Luiz could be given a midfield role with Cesc Fabregas being suspended.
Alvaro Morata having scored for Chelsea in the previous game coming off the bench means he should be starting this game. Jeremie Boga might be left in this game.
Tottenham XI : Lloris, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier, Walker-Peters, Wanyama, Dembele, Davies, Eriksen, Alli, Kane.
Chelsea XI : Courtois, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Moses, Luiz, Kante, Alonso, Willian, Batshuayi, Morata.
Prediction
I think it will be a close game. If i have to predict a scoreline then I think it might be 2-2.
