Chelsea and Arsenal share points in four goals thriller
It was a cracker of a game yesterday as two big London clubs played out an entertaining draw. The final result was 2-2 with no teams earning full three points.
Both teams had a lot of chances to score a winner but failed to do so. Especially Chelsea, who will rue missed chances. Alvaro Morata failed on a few occasions.
In the first half chances were created but the scoreline remained 0-0 and both teams went into the break on level terms.
It was the second half that was quite exciting as fans saw goals in it. The Gunners took the lead in the 63rd minute, courtesy of a Jack Wilshere goal. Arsene Wenger would have breathed a sigh of relief then.
But joy was only to last for very short time as four minutes later Hector Bellerin conceded a penalty. Eden Hazard wasn’t going to miss and soon it was 1-1. Though the penalty decision was controversial by referee Anthony Taylor.
The Blues fans would have thought that three points were secured six minutes from the 90 as Marcos Alonso struck in the second goal in the 84th minute.
Again their was a turning point in the game as Hector Bellerin equalized in the injury time. No team deserved to loose after a splendid display.
After the draw, Both teams still trail table toppers Manchester City by at least 16 points. They know that they need to keep winnings games or else forget about the title.
The Blues will play Norwich City next in the FA Cup on Saturday. On the other hand, Arsenal will play Nottingham Forest next in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Chelsea and Arsenal will again play each other twice this month in the EFL Cup semi-final over two legs.
So, Football fans have a lot to look after yesterday’s game.
