Brazil in good stead ahead of 2019 Copa America as they defeat participants Qatar in friendly
Brazil registered a comfortable 2-0 victory over Asian Champions Qatar in an international friendly as part of their preparations for the upcoming Copa America. Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus were the goalscorers.
Next up Honduras for the Brazilians in friendly on the 9th as before their Copa America opener against Bolivia on the 14th of June. Things are looking pretty interesting at the moment.
The win over Qatar is even more meaningful as they too are participating on invitation in this year’s Copa America. So good practice and time to strategise a bit.
The Copa America certainly won’t be easy even though Brazil have the home advantage as teams like arch rivals Argentina and Uruguay will test them. Although Brazil’s group is a pretty straightforward simple one.
Peru arguably the toughest team in Brazil’s group will possess some threats but Venezuela and Bolivia must be teams to get points from. Coach Tite will have his ideas about how the team will go about it’s business.
With the team possessing the likes of stars Neymar, Philippe Coutinho in the team the chances are very good this time and Brazil are always amongst the favourites whenever they play in soccer tournaments.
Defense wise also this team is pretty balanced having the likes of Dani Alves and Miranda. While midfield has the likes of Casemiro and Arthur. So it should be a good combination of players as we look forward to the 2019 tournament.
The World Cup wasn’t a success for the Brazilians last year as they were knocked out by Belgium in the quarter-finals. This must hurt and a trophy is lurking. This Copa America might be seen as the one which is Brazil’s to take.
They just need to step up before other teams make their way to glory.
