Asian Champions Team India eye winning start to the West Indies series

India vs West Indies
India will play West Indies in the 1st Test match of the 2 match series starting from Thursday
India and West Indies will go head to head in 1st Test of the 2 match series starting from Thursday. Team India go into this game as the favourites.

Date and Time : 4th-8th October 2018, 9:30 AM IST

Venue : SCA Stadium, Rajkot

Team India come after a successful Asia Cup in the UAE which they won. The team will now focus on a home series coming against The West Indies.

India know that this might not be as important a series especially Tests. But still they will need to give their all and avoid complacency.

The Batsman will have to do their jobs of scoring 500+ runs if batting first and the bowlers will need to take the 20 wickets.

On the other hand, West Indies will be out here to gain experience as their quality has dipped in recent times. But make no mistake they are The West Indies and can make anyone sweat on their day.

The men from the Caribbean will know that this Indian team is hard to beat especially at home, so they are up against it, but shouldn’t loose hope and play their best cricket.

Team news and possible line-ups

Sunil Ambris and Keemo Paul are both available for the West Indies for tomorrow’s 1st Test and will likely be in the playing XI.

As for India, Prithvi Shaw will make Test debut.

West Indies XI : J. Holder (C), K. Brathwaite, K. Powell, S. Hetmyer, S. Hope, Chase, S. Dowrich (WK), S. Ambris, Bishoo, S. Gabriel, K. Paul.

India XI : Kohli (C), Shaw, KL Rahul, Pujara, Rahane, H. Vihari, R. Pant (WK), Ashwin, Jadeja, M. Shami, U. Yadav.

Prediction

I expect India to dominate and win the first Test taking a 1-0 lead.
