West Indies shock India in a low-scoring thriller

West Indies vs India
West Indies defeated India in the fourth one-dayer by 11 runs
West Indies showed their unpredictability as they defeated India by 11 runs in the 4th ODI. India now lead the series 2-1 with the final ODI to be played in Jamaica on Thursday.

The Caribbeans posted a below par total on a pitch which was slow. The score of 189/9 (50) looked like it was never going to be defended against this Indian batting line-up.

But the West Indies bowled so well that India always looked like struggling to get even 190 of 50 overs. Jason Holder (5/27) was the hero of the match with his accurate bowling.

Shikhar Dhawan departed early for the Indians as he drove Alzarri Joseph on the up. Joseph’s grandmother cheered him on as she operated the manual scoreboard at Sir Vivian Richards stadium.

Next went Virat Kohli top edging Holder and then it was game on. Dinesh Karthik who was playing in place of injured Yuvraj played a poor shot to get out.

In came Dhoni who partnered with Rahane and laboured through their 54-run partnership. West Indies were more determined this time in their efforts as Williams, Bishoo and Ashley Nurse dried up the runs for India.

As Rahane got out the asking rate began to climb slightly, though still manageable. Kedar Jadhav then joined Dhoni and fell to Nurse soon after and now the asking rate was run a ball.

It was now up to Hardik Pandya to be alongside Dhoni and get India home. He contributed with a four and a six later but fell to Holder. The pressure was more on India now as Jadeja walked in.

One over from Roston Chase gave India some breathing space as he prove out to be expensive. As the singles were to do it for India, Jadeja went for a big shot and got out to Holder. Now the game again swung for the Windies.

Kuldeep Yadav was the guy next to join MS but played a lot of dots and pressurized Dhoni, who made a mistake to play a big shot and got out.

Later Holder cleaned up the Indian tail-enders and won West Indies an important game in a lot of contexts.

However the West Indians still need to do something of their batting as bowling looks fine. On the other hand, Indians will be wondering how come they lost the game.
