India and West Indies look for their first win
India and West Indies will once again be going head to head for the second one-day of the series. Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad will once again be the venue. India pushed hard for the win in the first game.
After the first ODI which was washed out, both teams will be looking to get their first win. India definitely hold the edge over the West Indies.
On paper the Indian team looks miles ahead of the Caribbean team. Also the West Indian attack doesn’t seem to instill too much fear into the Indian line-up.
India should really test their bench strength in this series. Guys like Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav must be given a chance.
The Indian openers did very well in the first game, so that looks a set slot. Yuvraj failed with the bat and this gives lot to think about whether or not playing a youngster in his place.
For the Caribbean team however they will need to improve faster. Devendra Bishoo will once again be holding the key for them. They need a collective effort to restrict the Indians from scoring 300+ scores.
The West Indies should aim for winning a few games in this series to propel their one-day ranking. These are important times for Windies cricket.
It will be interesting to see how the West Indies approach the second ODI. But to be honest they don’t have much experience amongst their ranks.
All in all it should be a good contest between India and the West Indies. Both the teams will be much more motivated to win especially after the First ODI being abandoned.
