England thrash Panama 6-1 as they reach round of 16

England vs Panama
England thrashed Panama 6-1 yesterday as they reach last 16 in style
England were totally dominant against Panama yesterday as they went on to thrash them 6-1 in Nizhny Novgorod to reach the round of 16. They displayed their best football so far in the tournament.

As for Panama, they must be disappointed after a disappointing first ever world cup for them. In their first ever game they were outclassed by a superior Belgium side and now a thumping by the inventor of Football.

England started scoring with an eighth minute John Stones goal, who scored a brilliant header. But the real hero of the match was the captain himself, Harry Kane who scored a hat-trick.

Kane soon came on the score sheet after converting England’s penalty in the 22nd minute. After which Jesse Lingard made it 3-0 in the 36th minute, taking the match out of Panama’s Grasp.

Defender John Stones had a brilliant day adding another goal to his tally in the 40th minute as things started look ominous for panama.

The first half was made even worse for the Central Americans as they shipped five goals, the latest being scored by Harry Kane after England were given the second penalty of the match.

It was all over in the first half of the match but still their was a second half to be played. In this one Panama fared better as The Three Lions managed to score just 1 goal even though they were threatening to score more and inflict a record defeat for the Panamanians.

Los Canaleros scored their first ever world cup goal through veteran Felipe Baloy who made it 6-1 in the 78th minute. It was a bit of a history moment for Panama.

In the process, just before the Baloy heroics, Kane got his hat-trick in a different way as the ball went in to the net after deflection from his foot.

Nevertheless, England will take this win with both hands as they now must tackle a dangerous Belgium side in three days time to decide the group’s winner.
