Bale’s strikes give Real Madrid their third consecutive UEFA Champions League title in a row
Real Madrid lifted their third consecutive UEFA Champions League trophy yesterday as this makes it a hat-trick of tournament victories for them.
Real Madrid won yesterday after overcoming Liverpool 3-1 in the final in Kiev. The goalscorers for Real Madrid were Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale while for Liverpool it was Sadio Mane.
The match started in an exciting manner as both teams looked to score. But it was soon disappointment for Liverpool as Mohamed Salah had to be taken off the field as due to injury. Salah suffered a shoulder injury and let’s hope he recovers in time for the world cup.
Real Madrid also had a player injured in Dani Carvajal as he did his hamstring. He was later taken off and replaced by Nacho.
The first half went goalless as both teams did their best to score but failed to do so. But it was nonetheless interesting.
Soon in the second half after the 15 minute break we saw the first goal of the game as Karim Benzema took full advantage of the mistake made by Loris Karius. It was 50 minutes on the clock and Real Madrid were ahead and we had the first goal of the match.
The happiness though was short lived for Los Blancos as Liverpool equalized soon after with the help of a Sadio Mane goal in the 54th minute.
Magic happened in the game when Gareth Bale came off the bench as his two goals proved to be decisive in the game. He scored the famous bicycle kick goal and one from outside the 30 yard box.
The scoreline was 3-1 in favor of Real Madrid as time passed for Liverpool to take the game to extra time. In the end Real Madrid deservedly won the title and it was celebration time for their fans.
