Chelsea take on Liverpool at home in 2017/18 Premier League

Chelsea vs Liverpool
Chelsea will play Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League
Chelsea are set to play Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League at home as season nears it’s conclusion. Both teams will be looking for a win.

Kick-off : 4:30 PM (Local)

Venue : Stamford Bridge, London

The Blues are still hoping for a top four finish although it looks highly unlikely. Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League after 35 games with 66 points. They are five points behind fourth placed team Tottenham although having played a game less.

Chelsea did well last weekend and collected points as a Fabregas goal gave them victory over Swansea. They would like to carry on the winning process against the Reds on Sunday but know that their opponents are going to match them in every aspect.

On the other hand, Liverpool reached the UEFA Champions League final in midweek despite loosing the 2nd leg and would be pretty happy.

The Reds have only three games left this season, one being the UCL final and other two EPL games. The game against Chelsea away will be a classic test for them.

Liverpool lead the head to head against Chelsea by 77-61. Both teams have played out 40 draws.

Team news and possible line-ups

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joel Matip will both be not available for Liverpool for the weekend game as due to injury. While Joe Gomez is a doubt.

As for Chelsea, Marcos Alonso is available and will likely play. Whereas Ethan Ampadu and David Luiz remains sidelined.

Liverpool XI : Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson, Milner, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Chelsea XI : Courtois, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Rudiger, Moses, Fabregas, Kante, Bakayoko, Palmieri, Hazard, Giroud.

Prediction

It’s a tough call to predict the outcome between the two of world’s biggest clubs, may the best team on the day win. I go for a 1-1 draw though!
