Liverpool eye win against Everton in the Merseyside derby
Liverpool are set to play Everton away on Saturday in the Premier League as the season moves ahead. Both teams will be looking for a win.
Kick-off : 12:30 PM (Local)
Venue : Goodison Park, Liverpool
Liverpool had a fantastic midweek as they tasted success in the Champions League. They defeated Manchester City 3-0 in the quarter-final first leg. They would like to carry the same form at the weekend.
The Reds have dominated the Merseyside derby over the years and will once again start as favorites on Saturday.
Liverpool are currently 3rd in the Premier League after 32 matches with 66 points. They are all but certain to finish in the top four.
On the other hand, Everton have had a mixed season so far domestically and are ninth in the points table. They know that they have to win all their games from now on to hope four a top 7 finish.
Liverpool by the way lead the head to head against Everton. They have won 118 games out of the 281 played between them so far compared to Everton’s 82 victories, 81 other games have been a draw.
Team news and possible line-ups
Ashley Williams is back from suspension for Everton and will likely play tomorrow’s game. Although James McCarthy, Maarten Stekelenburg, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Mason Holgate and Eliaquim Mangala all remain sidelined.
As for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah and Emre Can are both doubts. While Joel Matip will not be available as due to injury.
Everton XI : Pickford, Coleman, Jagielka, Keane, Baines, Davies, Rooney, Walcott, Calvert-Lewin, Bolasie, Tosun.
Liverpool XI : Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner, Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Prediction
I expect Liverpool to win this game as they come into this game on the back of a fine win in the Champions League. They will win 3-1.
