Les Bleus eye win against Colombia in Paris
France are set to play Colombia on Friday night in an international friendly in Paris. France go into this game as the favorites.
Kick-off : 9:00 PM (Local)
Venue : Stade de France, Paris
France prepares as we inch closer to this year’s world cup. They will play two friendlies in March against Colombia and Russia.
It will be a good opportunity for them to get accustomed to the conditions in Russia as they take on the world cup 2018 hosts in Saint Petersburg.
The French had a decent last world cup in which they reached the quarter-finals in which they were knocked out by eventual world cup winners Germany.
But they are among the favorites this time around to win the world cup given the quality and depth in their squad.
On the other hand, Colombia finished fourth in the South American qualifiers and earned direct qualification to Russia. They will be hopeful of putting up a good show in the summer.
France by the way lead the head to head against Colombia. Les Bleus have won twice while Los Cafeteros have won once out of the three games played between them so far.
Team news and possible line-ups
Juan Cuadrado will not be available for Colombia for the Friday night game as due to injury. While Radamel Falcao is available and will play.
As for France, Corentin Tolisso is doubtful for the Colombia game. While new guy Wissam Ben Yedder might make his international debut on Friday.
Colombia XI : Ospina, Arias, Y. Mina, D. Sanchez, Fabra, Aguilar, C. Sanchez, Chara, James, Muriel, Falcao.
France XI : Lloris, Sidibe, Varane, Umtiti, Digne, Kante, Dembele, Pogba, Matuidi, Griezmann, Mbappe.
Prediction
With the quality in their squad France definitely win this match. I think they will win 2-0.
