Italy require magic in must win game in Milan
Italy will need to win tomorrow by a healthy margin if they are to qualify for next year’s world cup. Sweden will just need to draw the game.
Kick-off : 8:45 PM (Local)
Venue : San Siro, Milan
Gli Azzurri last time didn’t qualify for a world cup was back in 1958 and will hope that they don’t repeat history.
As for the Swedes, they will hope to create more problems for the Italians by either drawing or scoring an away goal. But they wouldn’t want to loose by a couple of goals margin.
“We need to be as clear-headed as possible to go to the world cup,” said Italy legend Gianluigi Buffon. He conceded the goal that was decisive in the last game.
“We know we’ve lost, but we have another 90 minutes to overcome this complicated situation. The first rule is not to cry over it,” he added.
“I expect a full San Siro to carry this team through, I don’t want to think it’s the game of life, but I’m convinced that with the help of the public we will do it.
Team mews and possible line-ups
I don’t think Sweden will change anything in their squad and will stick with the winning combination.
Andreas Granqvist will once again captain Sweden.
As for Italy, I don’t see them changing either from the last game. While Gianluigi Buffon will once again captain Gli Azzurri.
Sweden XI : R. Olsen, Lindelof, Granqvist, Augustinsson, Larsson, Ekdal, M. Berg, Forsberg, Krafth, Claesson, Toivonen.
Italy XI : Buffon, Chiellini, Darmian, Candreva, Verratti, Belotti, Immobile, Barzagli, De Rossi, Parolo, Bonucci.
Prediction
I expect Italy to make a comeback in this game. They are an experienced side and should qualify for next summer’s world cup. The game will probably end 2-0 in their favor.
