Germany play England at Wembley

England vs Germany
England and Germany play each other at Wembley on Friday night
Germany and England are set to play each other on Friday night in an International Friendly. Both teams will be looking for a win.

Kick-off : 8:00 PM (Local)

Venue : Wembley Stadium, London

Both England and Germany will play two glamour friendlies each during the International break.

The Three Lions will face Germany and Brazil while Die Mannschaft will face England and France.

England though is missing a few key players. Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph, Harry Kane, Harry Winks and Dele Alli have all pulled out from the squad.

In a recent fixture between the two teams which was Lukas Podolski’s farewell game, Germany beat England 1-0 courtesy of Podolski in March.

Germany are currently ranked first in FIFA world rankings. They have this year won FIFA Confederations Cup and have qualified for World Cup 2018.

England and Germany have so far played each other 31 times. Out of that Germany have won 15 times while England have won 13 times. Three games have ended in a draw.

Team news and possible line-ups

England will be missing some key players due to injury. While Tammy Abraham, Joe Gomez and Ruben Loftus-Cheek get their maiden senior call-ups.

Michael Keane and Jake Livermore have been drafted into the squad. Whereas Gary Cahill is available and will play on Friday.

As for Germany, Mario Gotze and Ilkay Gundogan have earned a recall to the squad. While Manuel Neuer and Thomas Muller miss out due to injury.

England XI : Butland, Jones, Stones, Cahill, Walker, Dier, Livermore, Young, Lingard, Vardy, Rashford.

Germany XI : Ter Stegen, Kimmich, Boateng, Hummels, Plattenhardt, Khedira, Kroos, Sane, Ozil, Draxler, Wagner.

Prediction

Both teams are equal on paper but I think the Germans have an edge. I think though that this game will be a 1-1 draw.
