Man United vs Benfica
Manchester United will play Benfica on Wednesday night in the Champions League
Manchester United is all set to play Benfica on Wednesday night in the Champions League as the new season moves ahead. United go into this game as the favorites.

Kick-off : 7:45 PM (Local)

Venue : Estadio da Luz, Lisbon

Jose Mourinho’s side go into this game knowing that a win against Benfica will put them on the brink of Champions League knockout stages.

Man United have won their opening two games of the Champions League so far and will be confident ahead of the double-header versus Benfica.

Manchester United have the upper hand against Benfica in the games played between the two sides. United have won six of the nine games played, two have been a draw while Benfica have won once.

Team news and possible line-ups

Benfica are free from injuries and their manager will have a full squad to choose from for Wednesday’s game.

Although Andre Almeida will not be available against Man United as he is suspended.

As for Manchester United, they will be without the services of Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick.

While Eric Bailly will also not be available as due to injury. Victor Lindelof meanwhile could be given a start against his former club.

Romelu Lukaku could be rested for Wednesday’s game and Marcus Rashford could play in his place.

Benfica XI : Cesar, Grimaldo, Lopez, Luisao, Pereira, Cervi, Fejsa, Pizzi, Zivkovic, Jimenez, Seferovic.

Manchester United XI : De Gea, Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Blind, Herrera, Matic, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Lukaku.

Prediction

While it’s not a given that Man United will win on Wednesday night, but they certainly go into this game as the favorites. But since it is an away fixture, United will have to bring their A game. I expect United to win 3-1 on the night.
