FIFA World Cup 2022 – Morocco vs Portugal, Quarter-Final, match preview, predicted lineups
Portugal take on Morocco on Saturday in FIFA World Cup 2022 Quarter-Final as the tournament nears it’s conclusion. Portugal go into this game as the favourites.
Kick-off : 6:00 PM (Local)
Venue : Al Thumama Stadium, Doha
Portugal were brilliant in their last game in the Round-of-16 and they will be confident coming into this one. They know the parameters now and they must get along the job at hand and lift their first ever World Cup trophy.
The Navigators know they will have to be ever so solid despite it being an African team in the quarters. They have the players to do the job. Attack wise they have a new hero in Goncalo Ramos who sort of replaced veteran Cristiano Ronaldo. They can vie on attack.
In terms of formation they will go with a 4-3-3 here.
On the other hand, Morocco will be themselves very pleased and proud of their performances so far in this World Cup. They will look to continue the magic run.
The Atlas Lions topped Group F not simply but because of a resolute defence and they will know now how to tackle Portugal and teams beyond after the Spain game. On the attacking front they need more and it is where they might be caught against a firing Portuguese side and need to improve.
They will likely lineup in a 4-3-3.
Team news and possible lineups
Nayef Aguerd is doubtful for Morocco for the Saturday game.
As for the Portuguese, Cristiano Ronaldo will likely start on the bench. Elsewhere Nuno Mendes is out injured. While Danilo is a doubt.
