Team India eye victory against Sri Lanka as they hope to top the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 points table
India and Sri Lanka will play each other tomorrow in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as both teams finish the league phase. Team India go into this game as the favourites.
Date and Time : 6th July 2019, 3:00 PM IST
Venue : Headingley, Leeds
Team India after a fantastic run in this ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will look to finish the league phase in style and hope to finish atop the table to be number 1 and get a fourth ranked slightly lower opponents in the semi’s.
It won’t be that easy given Sri Lanka will also wanna have a go and finish their World Cup on a high. But India after securing a place in the semi’s already will be confident enough to beat the Sri Lankans with their brand of cricket.
The Bowlers have given a good account of themselves and on Saturday they will be tested on a wicket which is good for teams batting first. India will look to score in excess of 300 if batting first and try and restrict if bowling first. The Leeds wicket slows down in the second half.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka have had a very poor World Cup to their own standards. A team which played two consecutive World Cup finals back to back in 2007 and 2011 respectively have been below par.
Only satisfying performance have been a victory against tournament favourites England. They though will look to pull another upset as they take on another tournament favourites in India.
India are gonna give them nothing but Sri Lanka are a dangerous side on their day and they will aim for a combined effort against mighty Indians.
India have a good record against Sri Lanka in ODI’s and they will be boasted by the fact.
Team news and possible line-ups
Sri Lanka are likely going to play the same XI as in the previous game.
As for Team India, Ravindra Jadeja is available and will likely play.
Sri Lanka XI : D. Karunaratne (C), K. Perera (WK), A. Fernando, K. Mendis, A. Mathews, D. de Silva, L. Thirimanne, J. Vandersay, L. Malinga, I. Udana, K. Rajitha.
India XI : V. Kohli (C), R. Sharma, KL Rahul, R. Pant, Dhoni (WK), H. Pandya, R. Jadeja, B. Kumar, M. Shami, Bumrah, Chahal.
Prediction
I expect India to win this game and hopefully be on the top of the points table.
